Brunilda Paskali – Advisor of the President of The Republic for Social Issues
Brunilda Paskali was born on 5th of September 1965 in Korca, Albania. Ms. Paskali graduated from the University of Tirana in 1987 and holds a degree in English language and literature. Ms. Paskali, during the years 1989-1990, has given post-graduate exams in Psychology, Didactics and Philosophy.
For almost 20 years, Ms. Paskali run her own company “Wisdom”, which operated in the field of education. During this period, she has completed different specializations in Diplomacy and International Relations.
Ms. Paskali holds a Master’s Degree in Diplomacy, Conflict Management, from Norwich University, Vermont, in the USA.
During the years 1988-2013, Ms. Paskali has worked as an English Professor, Chief of the Scientific and International Relation Department and Professor in the Faculty of Psychology of ”Wisdom University College”
During the years 2010-2011, Ms. Paskali has worked as Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania.
From October 2013 until August 2015, Ms. Paskali has worked for the central government as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development. Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship (MEDTTE). In this position, Ms. Paskali has greatly supported girls and women especially in the field of entrepreneurship.
During the time as Deputy Minister of MEDTTE, Ms. Paskali has collaborated with different national and international organizations dealing with women economic empowerment and has participated in different national, regional and international conferences and events.
During her work as Deputy Minister of MEDTTE, Ms. Paskali has given her personal contribution for the Action Plan of Women Entrepreneurs 2014-2020 and has undertaken initiatives to facilitate the support of women entrepreneurs through grants and financial support.
From September 2015 to September 2017, Ms. Paskali has worked for the local government as the Deputy Mayor of the city of Tirana. Even in this position, Ms. Paskali continued to support the economic and political empowerment of women and girls
With her direct contribution, the Alliance of the Tirana Women Municipal Councilors was established, a successful example which was replicated in many other municipalities and which was later finalized with the establishment of the National Alliance of the Women Municipal Councilors.
Ms. Paskali proposed and supported personally the setup of the Women Entrepreneurs Fond from the Municipality of Tirana. This fond supports women and girls to open a new business or consolidate an existing one from 2016 onwards.
During the same period, Ms. Paskali undertook some other initiatives in support of women and girls empowerment. These initiatives were concluded with the signing of the Women Empower Principles and with the signing of the European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life.
From January 2018, Ms. Paskali is the adviser of the President of the Republic for social issues. Even in this position, Ms. Paskali continues her collaboration, support and promotion of women and girls associations, youth association and of different categories in need.
Ms. Paskali speaks fluent English and Italian and basic Spanish.
