The President of the Republic, H.E. Ilir Meta held today a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Georgia, H.E.Mrs. Salome Zourabichvili.
President Meta said that Albania supports Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations and congratulated Tbilisi on its substantial contribution to the Alliance’s operations and missions.
“Albania-Georgia relations are considered very good,” said the Head of State, “while there is room for their revival in all areas of mutual interest, both in bilateral and multilateral relations.”
Interest was also expressed in the coordination of efforts to promote the development of economic and trade cooperation, as well as in the field of tourism, between the two countries.
President Meta reconfirmed Albania’s position in support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The two Presidents shared information on the situation of COVID-19 pandemics, as well as approaches to easing the strict measures that would give breath and impulse to the economy and the resuming of normal life in both countries.
